Sylvanian World - Back to School

One blogger friend Jaycee C in HongKong called us for this ‘Back to School’ theme. In China the official back-to-school day is usually on September.1st. Similar to what was happening here in the States, you would see back-to-school sales in the store. Students would get new stationaries, textbooks and sometimes school uniforms. Although the academic pressure was hard to believe when I was a young student in China, and we were required to turn in a big load of holiday assignments, we still looked forward to the first day of school. The second day? Hard to say…… I miss school. I miss the youth time when I was so excited to get a new pencil box and decorated it with cute stickers. Now I don’t need and no longer have a pencil box. I rarely buy stationeries. But I’ve collected many Re-ment stationery sets.

To respond to Jaycee’s call and recall the old time, I spent last night setting up a stationery shop. If you are still a student and the school already started, I hope you have a good successful fall term. If you are no longer a student, I hope it makes you smile and good luck to what you are doing right now. And to all of you in the U.S., happy Labor Day!

This setup includes two of my favorite Re-ment sets: Student Stationery and Retro Girls Treasures. In the next following weeks I'll introduce everything in the two sets in my blog.
There are many bloggers who attended Jaycee's Back to School call. Take a look in Jaycee's post and you will find a list of links at the end introducing who has attended: http://jcduckhome.blogspot.com/2014/08/bb.html

Have a wonderful September!

  1. This is so adorable! Like all of your other displays, it takes me about ten minutes to really soak up how much detail was put into them. I still love that little mint stationery/book shop you have! It's all so cute! :)

    1. Thank you Paige. I always adore people's miniscene which with lots of things and details but still seems to be organized. I don't think I'm good at organizing those mini things in one photo yet.

Take a look at this blog (my friend, a HK Re-ment collector), no need to read Chinese, her photos said everything. Isn't it an expert of displaying miniature:

  2. I have the same reaction as Paige! I stare at each photo for quite a while because there are so many wonderful details in them. I discover new items each time I look at the pictures and I marvel at how pretty they are. I am in love with the clocks with the tiny princess crown, the sharpener (Candy Candy?), the mint stationery bookshop. I used to love starting school again because of the stationery as well, and would shop with my mom for cute pencil box and notebooks. Ah the good old time!!! Have a great week Chloe!

    1. Thank you Jane. I'm glad you had same experience of getting stationery before school started. I used to think American students didn't care about stationery because let's say, the stationery here is not as fancy as they are in Asia countries. But now I guess kids are the same. Lol.

    1. 感觉我的父母从不理解我喜欢文具和玩具的心,上一代估计很少有共鸣吧。如果我以后的孩子也喜欢,我会理解,以自己能力买给她。

  5. Back to school time was a fun one for me too! I loved new school clothes and stationery/school supplies. Your scene reminds me both of my school days and my time in Taiwan. Thanks for the memories! xo Jennifer

    1. Thank you Jennifer. Glad to hear you've been in Taiwan. I am new to know American students care about stationery as well because I used simply to think people here don't care. Otherwise why the stationery here is not as cute as they are in Asia countries. But now world is smaller. Guess kids have more resources.

  6. 好鍾意你間文具店, 尤其比少女寶物的食玩吸引住....好想去SOPPING...
    你好有心思, 加咗字貼, SALE旗仔好夾主題, 真係有好多文具店每逢8月就開始減價.

    1. Thank you Carry. It's hard to remember which set each piece belongs to once you have more and more those mini stuff. So sometimes I just cannot decide if I should organize them by set or by function.
